The Occupy Wall Street movement continues, and it’s no secret they are protesting the widening of the income gap and the middle class disappearing. One restaurant in Washington DC jokes about the 99 percent of Americans by making a $9.99 burger on wonder bread and American cheese, while on the other hand the one percent option is a $58 Kobe burger. Charlie McGrath, founder of WideAwakeNews.com, helps us understand the income inequality gap.

We’ll take a look back at last night’s GOP debate, which centered on foreign policy. We’ll also get into the truths and the myths of what was said. Then, throughout the lifespan of the Occupy Wall Street movement there’s one theme that has definitely held steady, the excessive use of force and violence by police departments. Next, in an odd moment last night, GOP Candidate Newt Gingrich came out sounding more reasonable than all the other candidates on stage when it comes to immigration. We’ll see if his idea, of legal status, but no guaranteed pathway to citizenship, could actually work. And then don’t miss our happy hour.

It’s thought the U.S. has redeployed its newest aircraft carrier from the Persian Gulf to the Syrian coast. Washington is also urging American citizens to leave Syria immediately. Patrick Henningsen, a political analyst from America’s ‘Infowar.com’ online magazine, says we are seeing initial steps of a repeat of what we saw in Libya.

Egyptians have packed into Cairo’s Tahrir Square, the centre-point for violent clashes which have killed more than forty people since Saturday. It comes as a former Prime Minister in the Mubarak regime agrees to form a new cabinet, after Egypt’s ruling military council asked him to lead a national government. GOP presidential hopefuls went head-to-head last night yet again. This time the debate was held at the historic Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. The debate was supposed to be focused on foreign policy and national security, but instead the potential presidential republican front-runners engaged in Obama-bashing and what seemed to be a competition on who was the most hawkish. Michael Hughes, strategist for The New World Strategies Coalition, gives us his take on the foreign policy debate.

Despite all of those epic warnings, the Super Committee did fail, and that “doomsday mechanism” is set to kick in. The Pentagon was fighting this move so much that they didn’t even prepare for the spending reductions that will set in on January of 2013, and it’s not like they didn’t have time to prepare. And despite calls for the DOD to cut from some of their major weapons systems, it looks like veterans will likely get hit the hardest.
